As a shout out to all Christian Conservatives in our midst and I declare without shame that I am one, there is a bible verse in 1 Corinthians 14:8 which says, "For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle?" Mitt Romney is the reason so many believers remained undecided right to the end because his mouth was always making an uncertain sound and so these people found themselves unable to prepare for the battle of choosing one man as POTUS.
No, we did not agree that abortion should be freely available and we think that if a man loves a man, they should limit their relationship to a civil union because marriage is a very specific union that portrays the relationship between Jesus and the church for which he died. And while it is true that no President has accomplished as much as President Obama, his social issues would have won Romney the presidency. But with Romney's uncertain sound, nobody could readily get behind him and he lost the presidency.
It should be obvious whom I voted for and it is according to conscience because even though I do not agree with abortions or same-sex marriage, I like to know that when there is trouble, the man at the helm of affairs has a steady hand. There is a hymn that says that in the storms of life, we need an anchor that holds. For the next 4 years, we will have an anchor that holds, not one that drifts all over the place.
